General FAQ's
Are you Covid19 safe?
I have successfully completed the Covid-19 Infection Control Training. Sanitation and hygiene is a high priority generally but is amplified during these conditions.Strict sanitation before and after every client is mandatory using hospital strength cleaning products. You can feel comfortable attending my studio once allowed to reopen as long as you have no communicable disease and feel healthy and well.
What steps ensure Covid19 safety?
• Clients are asked to sanitize hands upon arrival
• All consumables used during each procedure are disposable single use items and are disposed of as hazardous waste.
• All tools and equipment used in eyebrow feathering, lip blush tattoo and eyeliner tattoo are sanitized accordingly before and after use.
• All equipment is wrapped in barrier tape and that is disposed of immediately after each procedure.
• Upon client departure, the studio is sanitized with hospital grade chemicals.
Am I a candidate for cosmetic tattooing?
Only if you DON'T have/are any of the following: pregnant, currently receiving chemotherapy, sick with flu or fever, active HSV (cold sores) anywhere on the face or haemophilia. Any auto immune diseases will reqiuire a doctors clearance.
What can I do in preparation for my procedure?
It is a good idea to wash your hair on the day of your treatment or night before as you wont be able wet the tattooed area for 7-10 days. Wear comfortable clothing on the day. For lip tattoos it is recommended that you exfoliate and moisturise your lips for a few days leading up to your appointment
Where are you located?
I currently work from home in Essendon, Melbourne and my exact location will be provided once you make your booking.
What should I avoid?
No alcohol, aspirin/ibuprofen, fish oil supplements for 48 hours prior to treatment.
No facial peels, brow/lip wax 48hrs prior. Discontinue Retin-A for one week prior to your appointment.
What if I have Botox and/or Fillers?
You can be tattooed if you have had botox, but we recommend at least 2 weeks prior to and after your treatments (4 weeks either way if it is your first botox or fillers session).
What if I currently have a tattoo?
I will need to make an assessment on how to best help you - so I will require a clear photo and brief history to do that. Alternatively, you can book a consultation and the booking fee will be deducted from your treatment.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment by clicking on the Booking/Pricing link above or contacting Connie on 0409193599.
What if I am feeling unwell on the day
It is recommended that you make contact to reschedule as soon as you feel you may beunable to attend your appointment. Cancelling within the 24 hours means we may struggle to fit you in at your preferred date and you may forfeit your deposit..
Will it hurt?
Everyone has a different pain tolerance but you can rest assured that we use a pre-numb cream prior and a numbing cream during the procedure. Most clients don't feel eyebrow and eyeliner procedure at all but lips can be a little more sensetive.
Is there any down time?
Yes you will experience some down time as your skin in the treatment area may be red and inflamed. Brows vary according to the technique, eyeliner is usually on the day, and lips is about 3-4 days. It is also a good idea not to make important business or social appointments to be kept immediately after the treatment.
Should I adjust my calendar according to the downtime?
Yes. It is recommended not to exercise/sweat for the first few days after your procedure. The treatment area can swell and look bolder initially so you may choose to keep a lower profile than usual if you feel that this may cause you to be self-conscious.
How many treatments are required?
For most clients two appointments are required - your Initial Session and your Perfecting Session which are held approximately 6 weeks apart. Occasionally a third appointment may be required.
How long will my tattoo last?
Depending on your particular procedure, skin type and lifestyle, your tattoo can last anywhere between 18 months to 3 years. However a colour boost appointment s usually recommended between 18-24 months to boost and freshen up the colour.
What does the healing process involve
Immediately after your treatment your new tattoo will look amazing but you may have some redness and/ or swelling. You will be given aftercare ointment and instructions on how often to apply this. For the next couple of days you can expect the tattoo to darken and exfoliation to begin. You tattoo will shed old skin, and as new skin appears your colour will vary - even disappearing at certain stages. Please do not panic as this is all part of the skins natural healing process. You must trust the process. Around the 4th week you will see true colour.
